What is a Prerelease?
A Prerelease is a fun, casual event where you get to play with new cards before they’re available in stores. No need to bring a deck—everyone gets a Prerelease Pack filled with everything needed to build a deck and start playing. It’s a great way to experience the set, meet other players, and enjoy the game in a relaxed setting.
How Does It Work?
Each player will receive a Prerelease Pack, which includes:
✅ 6 booster packs filled with cards to build your deck, including a special booster themed around one of Tarkir’s five clans
✅ A guaranteed foil Rare or Mythic Rare card
✅ A collectible Spindown life counter (a special die for tracking life total)
You’ll then use these cards to build a deck on the spot and compete in a three-round tournament. Don’t worry if you’re new—staff and other players will be happy to help you get started!

Terms & Conditions
This ticket is subject to the following terms and conditions:
- Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult aged 18 years or over. Athena Games takes no responsibility for children under the age of 18, responsibility shall remain with the parent or guardian of the relevant child at all times.
- No smoking or vaping is permitted at Athena Games.
- No snacks or drinks are to be brought into Athena Games. Athena Games will have food and drink available for purchase.
- The unauthorised professional use of photographic equipment is prohibited at Athena Games.
- Event details and timing are subject to change and should be checked prior to travelling.
- Athena Games reserve the right to conduct security searches to all persons attending the event and their possessions.
- Athena Games reserves the right to, at their sole discretion, refuse access to, or remove from the venue, without a refund any person who unreasonably refuses to be searched, is considered harmful, undesirable or offensive, or is deemed necessary to remove in the interests of security.
- Athena Games does not accept responsibility for personal property brought into the venue.
- Entry to the event is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, Athena Games excludes all liability for loss, damage or injury suffered by an attendee howsoever caused.
- Attendees shall be responsible for and indemnify Athena Games fully for any loss or damage to Athena Games's property caused by the act or default of an attendee.
- Athena Games may cancel or vary this event (in whole or in part) due to events or circumstances beyond Athena Games's control. Where we cancel this event in its entirety, you will be offered a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.
- You have to let us know at least 48 hours before the event is due to occur if you wish to exchange or refund your ticket. After this time, the tickets are non-refundable however can be transferred to another player. This does not affect your statutory rights.
- If you are no longer able to attent the event and wish to discuss this with us, please us at contact@athenagames.com.
- Any complaints regarding the event should be made to Athena Games promptly before or during the event. Please raise any issues wth the tournament staff at the event, or otherwise by contacting us at contact@athenagames.com.
