Our goal is simple: make gaming accessible for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re brand new to a hobby or a seasoned veteran; our expert staff are on hand with wise counsel to advise you and indulge your inner gamer and hobbyist.

Need a new board game for a night in with the family? Advice or equipment for painting your latest miniatures? Perhaps you finally want to learn the complex rules of Magic the Gathering? In that case, look no further.

In addition to stocking more games, kits, and supplies than you can shake a spear at, we’re proud to boast one of the largest gaming spaces in the East of England. The only requirement is that you’re ready for Olympian levels of fun.

But why ‘Athena Games’, we hear you ask? Who better to represent us than the Ancient Greek goddess of wisdom and strategy herself! Much like Athena, we are always looking to grow, adapt, and support our community.

Speaking of community, that’s the name of the game for us here at Athena. We’re always on the lookout for new ways to ensure you get the very best out of your hobbies! So, for all our latest news, Blog posts, and tasty special offers, make sure you…

Meet the Athena Games Team

Mitchell

Mitch Athena Games

Hi my name is Mitchell and I am the manager here at Athena Games! Much like Sauron I have a one game to rule them all policy, and that is most certainly the Middle Earth Strategy Battle game, though of late I have been drawn to Marvel Crisis Protocol, who can say no to cyclops? As well as A Song of Ice and Fire, who doesn’t want to flay flesh right?

In my downtime I play a host of board games with one of my current favourites being Spirit Island, along with dabbling in Digimon. If you are ever looking to learn Middle Earth, or for a group to play a board game I am your man.

Alex

Alex Athena Games

Hey all my name’s Alex, and I’m the go-to person to talk to about our range of Trading Card Game (TCG) products. I’ve played most of the ones we sell, but at the moment I’m heavily invested in Magic: the Gathering. I’m always up for having a chat about a game, and give out a demo.

CJ

Chloe Athena Games

Hey my name is CJ, and much like a magpie is drawn to shiny things, I am drawn to little plastic soldiers. I am mostly invested in Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game (i.e it’s the majority of my assets) and love to paint them up! I have recently gotten into Kill Team and Necromunda, as well as enjoying Star Wars Legion!

Do other people have favourite Citadel Paints, or is it just me?

Juno

Hiya, my name's Juno! Though I've historically been more serious about miniatures games, they've taken a back seat to TCGs and short RPGs as my hobby time dwindles!

Right now I'm prioritising getting to grips with Magic Standard and painting models for Star Wars: Shatterpoint and the upcoming Blood Bowl season.

Pádraig

Hi, I'm Padraig but everyone calls me 'Pod'. I play a few different miniatures games including Moonstone, Blood Bowl and Bolt Action but my favourite game is definitely Magic: The Gathering, specifically Commander/EDH. That being said if you don't mind historically inaccurate cavalry charges I am always down for a game of Bolt Action.

When I'm not playing tabletop games you can find me doing some of my other hobbies; forgetting to paint my minis and buying new ones before finishing the last ones I got.
