Great introduction

Though there are the specific starter decks and sets, I think these are the best way to get into Pokémon. Jump into a recent expansion, read the enclosed rules (including deck-building help) and the expansion rules and you're away. You might not get enough cards to make a really coherent deck, but you get a big bundle of energy cards to make sure you can get pretty close to one. That, and having boosters instead of a defined set of cards feels like a more fun way to get involved. They also have room for far more cards than they come with and come with card dividers, so you'll be able to keep it tidy. Overall, a great choice.
