NEW WARHAMMER 40K LEAGUE: ATHENA’S CRUCIBLE
Commanders, the galaxy is tearing itself apart in the new 11th Edition, and it’s time to muster your forces! Welcome to Athena’s Crucible: The Armageddon Sector Incursion, our brand-new casual 1000-point league running right here at Athena Games.
Whether you’re a veteran testing out the new edition rules or a beginner looking to play your first proper games, this league is built for YOU. No meta-chasing, no high-stress tournaments—just great games with a fantastic community.
The Details:
• Army Size: 1000 Points (Battle-Ready or proxy-friendly for newcomers!)
• Format: 5 Rounds, Modified Swiss (You'll always play someone with a similar record).
• Pacing: 2 weeks per round. You have a full fortnight to coordinate with your opponent and play your game.
• Location: All games MUST be played in-store at Athena Games.
• Entry Fee: £15 (100% of entry fees go directly into the prize pool!).
Not Your Average Prizes:
Sure, we’ll have a prize for the top tactician, but we care way more about the stories on the tabletop. You can win prizes and glory for amongst others:
- The Vanguard Raffle: Just for finishing! Every single player who completes all 5 of their round games will be entered into a massive prize draw at the end of the league.
- The Most Valued Opponent (MVO): Voted by the players for the best person to play against.
- The Lucky Git: For the player who pulls off the most statistically absurd, logic-defying dice luck.
- The Emperor’s Blind Spot: For the player cursed with the most heartbreakingly terrible dice rolls.
- The Master Artisan: Best painted army.
- The Loremaster: Best "Vox-Transmission" battle report on our Facebook group or in our Discord!
Once you're signed up, make sure to head over to our Discord and grab the 40k League role!
Sign-ups close on 6th July, and Round 1 kicks off on 8th July
