A fun D&D sci-fi warm-up

If you're looking to add a splash of sci-fi to your fantasy in D&D, this is a good starting point. The story is light and fun, the monsters can still be used for 'normal D&D', and the new mechanics are sensible / useful.

If you plan to run ship-based life / combat / mechanics, I would strongly recommend picking up 'Ghosts of Saltmarsh', as well, as the ship mechanics in there are extremely useful and fully transferable to this style.

A missed opportunity?

I’ve read through the monsters and the general book, but not the adventure.

From what I’ve read, it feels mediocre. There needs to be more meat to the books. More monsters, where’s the ship to ship combat? I liked it, but it was lacklustre. I wish WOTC would have divided it into different books.

The quality of the printing and the information that is there is great though.
