from 3661 reviewsHas everything I’ve always wanted, the only store I think of first for warhammer as they have more than gamesworkshop even stock themselves when I’ve bought miniatures. Even when not in stock they order in for me. The best for prices for anywhere I’ve found, staff always helpful and friendly when I go in and been going for years for products, Pokémon products I used to go for when my son was young and still return for my families warhammer 40K needs. Brushes, paints, terrain decorations, dices, you name it they probably have it!
A lovely shop with plenty of choice , staff who really want to serve you (don’t always find this in some shops! ) All staff are on hand to share knowledge and opinions, Always seem to see the same young lady who has often offered her opinion on what she thinks would be a good purchase for us , we’ve purchased two games on her recommendation and have loved both !!
Excellent customer service , a real pleasure to shop here
The shop is very close to a car park, the staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, I'm always nervous going in to a new game shop as some can be very clicks and that is not the case here, if your in to your minatures or board games or D and D look no further, unfortunately I've moved to Suffolk so don't go in store as much as I'd like but if I'm ever in Norwich I'm definitely going here.
Excellent gaming space with friendly and knowledgeable staff! Whatever you enjoy - be it miniature games, card games like MTG or board games, Athena is a great place to enjoy it! Downstairs there’s also a great store with all your hobby needs at competitive prices.
Athena staff are so helpful and friendly. I cannot fault them. Nothing is too much trouble their knowledge and their willingness to share that knowledge is one of the things that draw me to return again and again Athena is level of stock is fantastic and their ability to order in whatever you want is incredibly helpful I would recommend Athena to everyone who is interested in board games, tabletop, gaming, and role-play games
The shop, the gaming, the events are all brilliant! However, what makes this place amazing? The staff, they all love varying hobbies, there is always someone who is knowledgeable and can help and nothing is ever too much! These guys and gals go above and beyond in a daily basis, I don’t know if I could ever praise them highly enough, well worth a visit, stop and play a game or two. B
Having never purchased anything from Athena before, I was a little sceptical. I was trying to order a book as a thank you to my son. He had missed the online order with Warhammer due to family problems, so couldn’t get this book, he was disappointed so I Googled the book and Athena popped up. I did wonder if it was too good to be true. A company selling a Warhammer book that had already sold out. I went through the purchase process which was really easy, although it is usually always easy to spend money! I did have a feeling that I would not end up getting this book. But to say this company keeps you informed is an understatement. From the moment I purchased a book from Athena I had correspondence. I was then kept up to date with the whole process. This for me was a delight when most companies just say thanks for your order and it’s on its way. I felt I had a more personalised experience. I would certainly buy from Athena again just for this experience. Thank you Athena for having this book in stock, you have made a university student very happy.
I am old so remember the days of the Games Room on Elm Hill being the only good game store in Norwich. Now there are many but Athena has it all with a great stock of games, brilliant friendly staff and plenty of table space to play with friends or join organised events. Very highly recommended whatever your needs.
We booked a table to play a few board games while my son attended the Yu-gi-oh Thursday tourney... Had a lovely evening, accompanied by lovely coffees and cakes. The staff are very friendly, and even took time to speed teach us a new game we had not played. Lovely evening, Thank to all the team at Athena Norwich.
My mother used Athena Games to get me the cool alternate cover "Tasha's Cauldron of Everything" D&D book for my birthday. It arrived extremely promptly, and she said the customer service was really excellent. She wasn't 100% sure she was buying the right thing, but found speaking to people extremely helpful. 5/5 excellent service & help. Plus I had a great time reading the book on my Birthday, it arriving on the day which was before I even thought it was available in England! 100% Awesome
A great staff. I was first apprehensive to message Athena Games on FB as I didn't really have a clue where to begin, I just knew I wanted to build a Nurgle Army. Mitch replied to my message extremely quickly and helped and advised me without ever trying to sell me anything. With this I instantly bought the items from them there and then as there was no 'oh, if you buy the Battletome you'll find the answer in there' it was all just a pleasant conversation. Also when I went to collect my items from the shop, Chris was nice enough to stop and chat to me about it for a bit. Overall an extremely pleasant experience to which I have gone bad a couple of times since. Thank you!
I have used Athena games a few times now for online orders and have been very impressed with them. Their prices and shipping costs are competitive and delivery is very quick, with you being kept well informed of when to expect your package. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. Excellent service all round.
